Vascular Studies – These non-invasive tests are beneficial in the assessment of peripheral vascular disease or circulation disorders. Using various ultrasound and pressure recording techniques, the arteries and veins of the extremities can be studied. In addition, these exams can identify abnormalities in the carotid arteries of the neck and also abdominal aorta.

Vascular Studies of the Extremities – These non-invasive tests are beneficial in the assessment of Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD). Using various ultrasound and pressure recording technology the arteries of the extremities can be studied. Sometimes the treadmill is used in symptomatic patients. The ankle pressures are reported following a few minutes of walking to further assess PAD. Also using ultrasound with color-flow and Doppler the veins can be assessed for the presence of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).
