Biography

I have always been interested in the medical field. After being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 13, I felt my calling was working with others living with diabetes. After graduating from Auburn and marrying in 1992, I worked in Columbus Ga in nutrition and diabetes education at Doctors Hospital and at The Medical Center. I moved to Leesburg in 1996 and I started working at the Diabetes Centers at Phoebe and then continued on at Palmyra. I have been at AIM for over 10 years. I have worked with people living with diabetes for 20+ years and lived with it myself for over 36 years. My role is to work together with our physicians and provide support, education, and encouragement to patients. My approach is to partner with my patient and help them to develop individualized steps toward optimal health and well-being.
